Start sculpting, go on and never stop

 Hi, Josh here.

In order to have satisfaction in anything you make, you need results. Inspiration is important, but so is to maintain motivation, resilience and to give things a proper conclusion; and so is with sculpting.

These are my two resent figures, Rias and Schwi, which are finished, painted and displayed with my other figures.

If you look them from a healthy distance, they blend very well with mass produced "professional" figures; if you look them from very close, well, this happens with many mass produced figures too.

However, I think that is the point of this post today, what I learned from experience over the years in sculpting is that: It is never too early or too late to start sculpting, but what is important is to start, go on and never stop.

Your first figures my not meet your expectations, but there is nothing that replaces the satisfaction of finishing something on your own. And it is important that your dreams go into thinking how to make the next figure even better; rather than just dreaming for the sake of dreaming in a figure that never came to be.

It is good to look at other's work for inspiration and motivation, but always look for trying things. Very especially for people who are curious at starting sculpting, never think "I don't have talent, or time..."; sculpting has little to do with talent and more with experimenting to see what works better for you and how to improve your strong points rather than always comparing yourself to the bests that maybe the only thing you lack that they don't is the journey to finish your first figure.

I love talking about sculpting, rather than writing about sculpting. Hope I can talk to more people about sculpting in the future. :)
